Note: This article is based on a blog post by Darius Foroux, in which he talks about the importance of ambition.
But at that age, I did not value ambition, and I also developed a keen interest in human development. I aimed to better myself and become a better person, son, friend, and student.
So I decided to build a good life for myself and the people around me. Now, 16 years later, I believe that decision was the most significant decision I have ever made. I decided to start being ambitious that day, as one of the hardest things in life is creating a successful personal and professional life.
You Will Not Succeed Easily
Unless you are born with a golden spoon, success will not come to you easily. In challenging situations, the majority of people give up. Take note of how depression is at an all-time high, obesity is becoming more common, and people are worn out at home. We all know that life is not easy, so what makes you think you will be successful?
The short answer is that you can't start until you believe in yourself, and if you don't start, you can't succeed. This is the power of ambition. To be clear, when I refer to success, I do not mean success financially. I'm talking about living your life according to your own terms, which entails having a job you love, being surrounded by the people you love, and having hope for the future. That is what success is—not having a lot of money, influence, or status.

Belief and Effort
The author of The Formula and professor of physics at Northeastern University, Albert-László Barabási, studied the rules of success. He discovered that success is greatly influenced by ambition. For instance, Albert's research indicated that students' academic success is not dependent on the school they attend, as we frequently believe that people who attended a prestigious university like Harvard received an education that makes them outstanding.
This is incorrect, though. “The only determinant of long-term success is derived from the best college a student may apply to, even if they do not join it,” wrote Albert in his book. “This means that The success of a student who applied to Harvard University but was rejected and then attended another university would be comparable to that of Harvard graduates who had the same SAT score and high school GPA.”
Simply put, it is ambition, not the college they attended, that distinguishes a person from others. Albert's research backed up what the industrialist Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right!"
However, we are aware that thinking we will succeed does not guarantee it, as belief alone is not enough. Your actions must be consistent with your beliefs; otherwise, you won't see any noticeable results. Additionally, success is still complex, as there are no all-inclusive blueprints or road maps. In my opinion, success cannot be duplicated, but that is not our topic here.
Ambition, Believing That You Can Achieve Something
This is what I'm talking about. When I decided I could do something with my life, I persevered. The majority of people don't comprehend this. Yes, belief is useless in and of itself, but those who truly believe they can achieve their goals are the ones who actually do.
Make ambition your default state and resist the urge to say, "I could never do that," when you set a big goal for yourself. You must be ambitious enough to set some big goals for yourself.
In addition to earning a good income, my goal when starting a blog was to work full-time rather than just as a part-time struggling writer. However, the first year I worked, I only made about $500, and I remember thinking to myself at the time, "How can I feel comfortable if I don't make enough money to pay off the mortgage?"
However, I also had other sources of income, so eventually, I was able to make a good living solely from my writing. Of course, it wasn't that easy; over the course of 16 years, I worked hard to develop my skills and myself, but in life, nothing comes for free. Simply put, it was the cost of success.
You only have to look at the things you have achieved in your life. Do you recall the beginning of each new school year? In spite of the fact that you had no prior knowledge of the new subjects, you ultimately succeeded in your exams and received your diploma at the end of the trip.
The same goes for work. What knowledge did you possess on the first day? absolutely nothing. I still recall the first day I began working at each job and business I had. I knew nothing about it at first, but look what I've learned since then.
In Conclusion
Starting from scratch and making progress every day will allow you to learn a lot in a short amount of time, and it will also help you reach your new goals. But unless you believe in your ability to succeed, you won't.
