However, as they get older and mature, they soon lose their bravery and optimism. At this point, practical and realistic thinking governs their actions, raising the question, "Do maturity and realistic thinking require refraining from following passion?"

Individuals frequently lose sight of the essential things because they focus on life's events and emergencies and forget their sense of joy, enthusiasm, and integration into their work or activity.

Signs You're Not Following Your Passion in Life

1. Every morning, you find it great challenging to wake up and get up

The problem

You force yourself to get out of a warm bed to face the early morning darkness and cold and drink your morning coffee as usual to give yourself the energy you need to complete your daily tasks and obligations that you perform against your will without pleasure or passion.

You are devoid of the passion or desire that drives someone to wake up full of vitality and activity rather than feeling forced and resentful of life. This natural excitement or enthusiasm for life makes a person wake up early in the morning on their  own before the alarm goes off.

Solution

Find something new to work on, a new hobby, or a new career that excites you again. For instance, you must pick something that makes you feel so happy and enthusiastic that you can't sleep at night. The emotions of exhilaration that arise from following one's passion in life are unmatched.

2. Your thoughts are constantly focused on the things that you sincerely want to accomplish

The problem

You're always bored, and the minutes seem to go by forever at work. You spend most of your time thinking about what you want to do than work, and there are several things you'd like to do, but you're always thinking about the work you wish you could do more of and as a career.

Solution

It is really that simple: you only need to do more of what you truly love to do. That doesn't mean shunning your obligations and duties in favor of doing work that makes you feel good. Instead, it means each person has a right to pursue their passions. For this reason, you must make every effort to discover a way to gradually transition from doing the work you detest to one you love.

Passion in Life

3. You are not investing your true passion in life

The problem

Perhaps, your work is unrelated to your passion like you work in a meat shop even though you're a vegetarian, or maybe you're a creative artist destined to work in a factory. No matter how far it may be from home, you might enjoy being outside, but you must work nine hours daily in an office. You might also be gregarious and like meeting new people, but you're almost alone.

The fact that these examples are all grounded in reality is regrettable. In other words, most people know what their passion is, but they don't pursue it. They concoct feeble justifications to put it off indefinitely, which ultimately causes them to lose hope and think that pursuing their passions is unachievable in the real world.

Solution

The solution requires that you rediscover your passion and look for ways to employ it in your life. Your passion does not need to interfere with all the work you do. It is enough to be more present in your life.

4. You allow others to make critical decisions on your behalf

The problem

That means you give others, your family, friends, or employer, for example, the authority to decide on essential matters like your career, your emotional partner, or the type and quantity of your working hours. However, you cannot give others the authority to decide on your behalf because they are unaware of your preferences, interests, or passions. Most of them don't care about you or your future, so you have to be disciplined in your decision-making and focus only on your passion.

Solution

You are the only one in charge of your life and decisions, and others' opinions don't really matter. Individuals in your social circle frequently make recommendations and offer counsel relevant to your personal and professional lives.

They are exempt from the repercussions of these recommendations. You decide in your life because it is your own. You must give up trying to please people at the expense of your comfort, follow your passion, and make choices that will guarantee your happiness.

5. You are afraid to take a different route than the rest

The problem

Following your passion can be a lonely and difficult journey because you will take a different path than others, experience fear and loneliness, worry about other people's opinions, and undoubtedly face criticism. Let them criticize you, at least for something you love.

Solution

Following your passion can be a lonely and difficult journey because you will take a different path than others, experience fear and loneliness, and worry about other people's opinions. History immortalizes exceptional people.
