For example, if you want to write a book, you first have to find a topic, then choose a title, write the first chapter, etc., make a plan for how to reach your desired dream and make your tasks individual goals. Smaller goals may not be as exciting as your big dream, but they help you see your progress.

2. Reward Yourself

Sometimes, finishing a task is a bonus in and of itself, but some missions may need a lot of motivation and rewards to complete. Establish your reward system, choose a prize from the tasks you have broken down into your dream, and reserve a massive bonus for the most challenging tasks. You might need to break up these partial tasks into smaller tasks and reward yourself for each one if you need to find out what motivates you, find out who your potential new customers are, set a reward for each call you make, like a chocolate bar, and stay flexible.

3. Create an image that connects to your dream

It's best to always keep your bigger dream in mind because, while smaller goals might not be as exciting as your main goal, you still need to work towards it. On your path to realizing your dreams, you should picture your success by doing what is known as creating an image in your mind. That is especially important when you encounter obstacles.

Your chances of success will increase fourfold if you print this image and hang it in your environment. You can make images using Photoshop or any other image-editing program.

So, do you want to lose weight? Edit a photo of you to look as graceful as you like, or do you dream of a high salary increase? So, create a picture of your new salary, keep these photos in a clear place, hang them on the bathroom mirror, for example, and start every morning looking at them.

4. Limit the distractions

We live in the most challenging times to concentrate and avoid distractions. They are so ubiquitous that we wonder: How can we focus on getting anything done anymore?

It is inevitable to deal with junk email, but it can be reduced by using a proper application to get rid of spam, and you can reduce other distractions, too. For example, you can allocate half an hour to arrange your messy office and eliminate the piles of paper that exhaust you just by looking at them. As for social media, you can address it by using it exclusively as a reward after completing one of your small tasks.

If you want to achieve your dreams, you have to get rid of what distracts you, find out what takes away most of your time, and limit it. It is better to start with habits that are easy to modify.

5. Appreciate the mistakes

Scientist and inventor Thomas Edison was once asked if he was frustrated by the number of experiments that failed in his attempts to invent the light bulb, and he replied, “I did not fail; I found 10,000 unsuccessful ways.”

All those who have achieved great success have faced a lot of failure at some point, so start seeing your failed attempts or mistakes from a different perspective. It's up to you; you can resent them or follow Edison's example and see it as a step closer to achieving your dream.

Stay positive even when something is not working, and it will build your experience. You can choose whether your failures will frustrate you or make you more successful.
