The Importance of Focusing on the Near Future
You can learn how to stop worrying and gradually start achieving your goals. I used to worry constantly about my future, and then it finally became clear to me that all this anxiety did not help me; it was taking away my present and future.
Note: This article is based on the work of the writer Sammy Felice, in which he tells us about the importance of focusing on the near future.
I began to realize that the feelings I feel and the actions I take week after week will eventually shape my future, so if I worry now, I am preparing to continue my anxiety in the future. If I smile and do my best now, I am prepared to smile in the future. The only way I can be sure of charting a great destiny is to do my best to create a magnificent present and gradually improve it week after week despite the unfortunate incidents and little pains that inevitably appear in our lives.
These days, I write what I am grateful for every morning and evening, I hug my family every day, I do a little exercise every day, I eat a healthy meal every day, and I write every day because small businesses multiply every week, I change my future by a tremendous amount.
Why focus on the distant future?
The first step to overcoming our anxiety about the future is to accept that the only reason we worry is that we are looking away from what is in front of us. The second step is to realize that our anxiety about the future is due to the belief that it is our salvation (most of the time, this is never the case).
We must change our perspective because many do not have a dominant view of how long we should focus. Our minds are naturally attracted to their hypothetical thinking: the distant future, but because our minds love concepts, we can also stick to concepts that serve us better, and one to two weeks seems to be the right time.
Tim Ferriss, the well-known author of Four Hour Work Week, lives his life through the main framework of two-week trials in six months, avoiding five-year plans to focus on the short term.
Most other authors, such as Scott Adams, have discovered the benefits of setting short-term deadlines and using systems-based thinking. For example, instead of dreaming of writing a book, eliminate the idea and focus on writing a chapter a week. Focusing on the short term motivates you to start.
Cancer patients who know they will die within a year lose their fear of success and start taking more action, but you can't do anything when you focus on the odds of what will happen in a month, five years, or a decade from now, and it is this state of inaction that sets the stage for anxiety.

To reduce anxiety about the future, here are some things you can focus on during the week:
- What time do you get up?
- What you choose to eat, read, and watch.
- Set aside 1 to 3 hours a day or more to help you achieve your goals.
- Meet your friends.
- Thank people, smile, and laugh as much as possible.
The importance of focusing on the near future
We all have goals and dreams, but all you need to build the best possible future is to make your week as exceptional as possible, not so long ago, you imagined what life would be like when you reached the age of “put your current age.”
Do not let this cycle repeat itself throughout your life, act this week, and make it valuable because when it passes, it never returns. I am not saying that we must live every day as if it were the last day of our lives because we will inevitably make mistakes.
The mindset of perfection will only spoil us in the long run, but as long as we persevere with our work, relationships, and habits every week, our future will be fine, and all we need to focus on to have a brilliant future is constantly improving our average week quality by 1 to 5%.
In conclusion
Living each week in an exceptionally becomes more and more natural by applying the principles in this article; that is, doing difficult things becomes smoother, focusing on the week instead of the imaginary future becomes your default lifestyle, and in the end, you will not care about the future because you will get all the excitement and satisfaction every week.
