Whether we like it or not, the ugly face of the monster of jealousy appears now and then, and with it begins a series of other problems on all levels.

When we look at the definition of jealousy, we wonder why we feel it. Jealousy is a feeling of hatred and resentment for someone’s success, fame, merits, or anything that shows that others have more or better things than we have.

It doesn't matter much if it is better than what we have; all that matters in our minds is that particular thing, which we find out is not better than what we often have, and then our jealousy is for no reason.

The sense of jealousy often stems from childhood or from our lack of something during our upbringing or life. We may have had to struggle to get something that somebody else might have gotten so quickly, and this causes us to hate that person, but that is not an excuse for hatred and jealousy.

Hatred and jealousy of others are never justified; jealousy presents pure evil and must be controlled or eliminated. It is also a sign of psychological weakness, while any healthy person shouldn't feel weak or inferior.

Reasons why jealousy is a devastating factor for our health

1. Lack of self-esteem leads to grief, which in turn leads to heart weakness

We must remember that the heart is a muscle at the end, which slows down when we feel sad, beats naturally when we feel happy, and beats very quickly when we feel excited and emotional. Grief can lead to depression as well, which can deteriorate and get out of control very quickly when not treated.

So, we have to pay close attention to ourselves when we have feelings of jealousy and search deep down to find out the truth of the reason that drives us to feel it and then work to turn it into positive feelings and actions.

Doing so may seem very difficult, but if we compare one of the things that we're jealous of with one of the positive things that we enjoy in our lives, we can quickly eliminate those feelings of jealousy.

Jealousy

2. Feeling angry raises blood pressure

Jealousy can lead to a weakening of the heart muscle, and it can also cause extreme emotion and anger about something. This, in turn, leads to high blood pressure and an increase in the heart rate, so the next moment, we find ourselves dependent on medicines to live our lives, and this will not be beneficial, especially when we realize that the reason we take these medicines is just a bad idea.

Therefore, we have to eliminate the thoughts of jealousy and the feelings resulting from it to get rid of these medicines.

3. Jealousy sometimes pushes us to get addicted to alcoholic beverages

Our emotions often lead us down the path of alcoholism. Some people tend to resort to alcohol or harmful medicines to help calm their nerves or heal their pride wounds, and they get jealous, which drives them to anger and arouses their desire to smoke or drink alcohol.

If you keep doing this, it will bring much harm to your mental and physical health, so we need to find another way to deal with our jealousies so that we can finally get rid of them forever.

4. The tension and stress of jealousy lead to multiple physical illnesses

Jealousy leads to permanent tension that ultimately leads to several diseases, such as dementia, obesity, various types of headaches, premature aging, or early death.

Therefore, we must control ourselves and our jealousy, which can also lead us to emotional eating behavior that, in turn, leads to obesity or diabetes, in addition to several other diseases that we do not have to suffer from. Therefore, we have to start to control ourselves immediately.

5. Jealousy leads to the loss of your friends and family members

When we are jealous of the positive things that happen to those around us, we end up alone without any friends or family because of the behaviors that jealousy leads us to. Loneliness ultimately leads us to the depression that we talked about as the first reason on this list.

No one will ever want to approach you again because of your constant hatred, bad and negative language, and repeated attacks on the person you are jealous of. You will not listen to or be convinced by the arguments and rationales that others offer to help you no matter what they say, and you will eventually be excluded from all their meetings and parties, and none of them will ever want to be in your presence.

In conclusion

We conclude from the above that it is essential to know the real reasons and the source of our resentment and hatred. We need to get the help of a professional immediately if we need it, or we can try to deal with jealousy and get rid of it ourselves if we feel that it is simple and we can do so, and we should search for its causes within our minds and then treating them; jealousy will not benefit anyone.
