Note: This article is from writer and blogger Alden Tan, who shares 5 tips for harnessing passion in life.
The problem with my passion for blogging is that I have been practicing it diligently for nearly two years, during which I have suffered from difficulties, and I am still facing challenges now. However, I still do not know how to make money from it after all this time, but I love writing and I want to master it.
Then I wondered about the reasons for my lack of luck and my inability to make money, even though I am practicing a profession that I love. What drives me to make this strenuous effort in the first place? Why can't I enjoy investing in my passion?
The Call of Passion
I left my previous job because I was working hard and not having fun. This feeling hasn't changed despite following my passion for writing and creating a blog, working from home, writing on my own terms and standards, creating like an artist, and connecting with creative bloggers who share my ideas online.
I have been exhausted by the difficulties of working life, and I need to earn money to support myself and my family. I have eventually found that finding passion, following intuition, and practicing the work you love involve many complications.
Five tips for investing in your passion
1. Focus your time and effort entirely on your passion
I was doing my best to write when I started working on the blog, and then I focused my time and effort on learning online marketing. Marketing drained my energy, frustrated me, and had little success, but I refused to give up and continued to work on it to achieve success.
A person cannot follow more than one passion in life, and e-marketing has deprived me of the pleasure of work I had in the past. I am investing all my time and effort in writing, and recently, I am working on writing a new book. I plan to publish my books on Kindle. In short, you should not focus your time and effort on secondary issues and neglect your passion.

2. Get out of your comfort zone
When I was about to decide on the next step, I was afraid that I would lose the little money I had saved over the years and would no longer be able to support myself. But then I understood that my feelings of fear were a sign of good things to come.
Every human being is born with a burning emotion called passion, which is the origin of all happy emotions, including joy and pleasure. Go beyond your comfort zone and embrace the associated feelings of fear, confusion, and doubt in order to create and lead the life you've always wanted. Go beyond your comfort zone and live a happy life by following your passion.
3. Adjust your passion to come from your heart
Investing in passion requires that you be honest with yourself. I intended to help others by investing my passion in writing when I started the blog. For this reason, I decided to specialize in the personal development field, and I published my first few ebooks while blogging. I succeeded in earning money at the time, but I was not satisfied with my career path.
E-books are merely compilations of articles, and many times, they aren't even real books. I've written about some market-trending subjects in the past. Those subjects were not close to my heart. After deciding to branch out and write about new issues, I began concentrating my writing on the matters I find most enjoyable, such as humor and entertainment. In other words, I adjusted how I invest my passion so that it is truthful, sincere, and originates from my heart.
4. Don't stray from your passion in life
I tried to invest in online marketing, and although I learned a lot during that period, I returned to writing again. That is, I returned to where I started about two years ago, and I became confident that none of us can give up our passion; rather, we will return to it sooner or later. So, work according to your intuition and do not deviate from your passion, even if you think you need to learn a specific skill or gain a different experience.
5. Invest your passion in ways that suit the market
The world's systems, cultures, and people control the market's demands and how people invest their passion in life. Then, you must figure out how to apply your passion to meet people's needs so that they will pay you for your services and you can work at something you enjoy.
The balance between passion and reality is achieved by continuing to learn and going through new experiences that support your passion. It's essential to stop experimenting with new things as soon as you start to lose interest and zeal, to be truthful, to devote all of your time and energy to your passions, and to work joyfully and from the heart.
